Maintaining the right environment is essential for mushroom farming success. Our CO2 Meter for Mushroom Cultivation is designed to provide precise monitoring of carbon dioxide (CO2), temperature, and humidity levels — all in one smart device. Whether you’re growing oyster, button, or shiitake mushrooms, this tool helps ensure optimal growing conditions and improved yield.

Airatom CO₂ Meter (400–10,000 ppm)

1) What the device does

Airatom CO₂ Meter measures indoor carbon dioxide concentration from 400 to 10,000 ppm and simultaneously tracks ambient temperature and relative humidity. It helps facilities maintain healthy ventilation, comfort, and compliance with indoor air‑quality targets.

 Sensing principles

  • CO₂: NDIR (Non‑Dispersive Infrared)

    • A broadband IR source emits through a sealed gas chamber.

    • A narrow‑band IR filter centered at ~4.26 µm (CO₂ absorption band) reaches a thermopile/photodiode.

    • CO₂ molecules absorb part of the IR energy; the detector signal drops proportionally to concentration (Beer–Lambert law).

    • Internal reference/dual‑beam design and temperature compensation stabilize readings over time.

  • Temperature & Humidity: Digital sensor (CMOS)

    • Capacitive RH element and band‑gap temperature sensor provide calibrated digital outputs.

    • Used for comfort metrics and for CO₂ compensation (CO₂ reading adjusted for T/RH influence on the IR path and sensor electronics).

 System architecture

  • Sensors: NDIR CO₂ module + combined T/RH sensor (factory‑calibrated).

  • MCU & Firmware: Filters raw signals, applies temperature/RH compensation, performs auto‑baseline correction (ABC), and drives display/alarms.

  • User Interface: Backlit LCD/LED shows CO₂ (ppm), Temperature (°C/°F), Humidity (%RH), and color/emoji/buzzer indicators.

  • Outputs (options):

    • Local buzzer & tri‑color LED for threshold alerts

    • Relay output for fan/damper control (configurable set‑point)

    • Digital comms (UART/MODBUS/MQTT over Wi‑Fi*) depending on variant

  • Power: 5 V DC / USB‑C or 12 V DC adapter (as supplied variant).

  • Enclosure: Wall/table‑top ABS with venting for proper air exchange.

 Performance & specifications (typical)

  • Stability: Drift < ±75 ppm/year (with ABC enabled)

  • Power: <1.5 W typical
*Exact figures depend on module/binning; provide your chosen SKU’s certified spec on the datasheet.

 Installation & placement

  • Mount at breathing‑zone height (≈1.1–1.7 m), away from windows, vents, direct sunlight, or heat sources.

  • Ensure free airflow around the vents; avoid corners or dead zones.

  • For room representativeness, place centrally or per standards (e.g., near return air, not supply).

 Calibration theory

  • Factory calibration: Each NDIR module is calibrated vs. certified CO₂ gases.

  • ABC: Suited for offices/classrooms that see outdoor‑level CO₂ daily; it corrects slow drift.

  • Manual field calibration (optional):

    • Fresh‑air set (400 ppm): Expose to outdoor air 10–15 min and initiate “400 ppm” calibration.

    • Span check: Use certified span gas (e.g., 2000 ppm) for high‑accuracy deployments
